Makitel Dooel

Makitel Dooel is a member of Trafitalia Group which was founded in 2006 with the objective of supplying quality transformers to the international market. The holding group consists of three companies, two of them located in Italy and one in Macedonia.

At the end of 2006, Trafitalia s.r.l. established Makitel dooel. Makitel factory is located near the village Novo Selo, at about 25 Km from the town Ohrid, in the south-west of the Republic of Macedonia.
The premise has a surface of about 14,600 sq. m., covered for about 4,200. It is composed of a main building of about 3,530 sq. m. and of three accessory buildings. It was built in the year 1985 and has been renewed in summer 2007, after the purchasing of the premise by Makitel.
The factory is equipped with all utilities (air compression , water and gas heating system) needed for the job to be done.
The production at Makitel started in August of 2006 and the first transformers were delivered in September of 2007.
The production line of Makitel composes of :
oil-immersed transformers from 30 kVA to 12.5 MVA,
shunt reactors,
zero-point transformers and
ARC supression coils.
In the spring of 2010, Makitel got certified with the ISO 9001:2008 standard. The current factory setup is capable of producing up to 400 transformers per month.

Tanks

Makitel Dooel

Tank integrity is essential for reliability and long transformer life. To ensure a perfect fit to the application, Makitel designs all transformer tanks to high internal standards taking customer specifications into account. Hot-rolled, low carbon steel plates are cut to critical tolerances then joined via submerged arc welding to ensure against cracked seams and irregularities. The tanks are being tested with high preassure 50-100% greater than achieved during normal operation. The corners of the ribs are being Bent (no welds). Exterior surfaces are primed with a two-part epoxy primer and top-coated using two-part urethane high gloss finish coat as requested.

Testing

In the test room, the transformers are subject to a series of measurements and tests. Routine tests are carried out on all transfomers prior shipping. Once the routine tests are complete, the protection instruments and other accessories are fitted on the transformer and then the transformer is subjected to a complete final check. Subsequently the rating plate is fixed on the tank.
